Jump back to the Victorian era with this beautifully intricate - yet easily constructed - Toilet Cushion!

When pulling your stockings on in the morning, is your bench a little cold? When resting after tightening your corset, is your stool a little hard? Do you want a little more personalized decoration for your bottom while you apply your face creams? Then a Toilet Cushion is for you!

In the Victorian era, the Toilet refers to a routine you do to get ready and dressed in the morning. A toilet stool is what you would usually have handy to sit on while your were putting on makeup, stockings or performing any other parts of your morning Victorian routines. Beautifully decorative Toilet Cushions were a common hand made item for the Victorian home.

In the modern day this little pillow makes a lovely throw pillow or even dog head rest!

The original pattern can be found here (for free!): https://pdf.library.soton.ac.uk/WSA_open_access/00402936.pdf

The pattern I created includes all of the fixes, notes, charts and pictures I gathered when I was making this myself. I also filmed a video about the process of making this toilet cushion, which isn’t meant as a full tutorial, but does have a few helpful pointers.
